Within recent months, two professional physicians organizations have come out with statements acknowledging grave ethical concerns viz infant male circumcision, and concluding that the procedure is not recommended to be performed routinely. This is ahead of a revision of the statement on the issue from the American Academy of Pediatrics in cooperation with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which many fear will recommend this ethically suspect procedure be forced on children.
