A couple of stories have collided in the last week that tell of the ideological battle behind public health policy and opinion makers and the rest of us.
The primary AIDS journal in the US is reporting that rates of new infections have plunged in recent years while a journal of infectious diseases has reported on scant data that circumcision appears to correlate with lower rates of HIV in minority groups. The latter is a PR piece that one sometimes sees in scholarly journals, to their utter shame.
