One wonders how a rich country such as the United States could so fail its citizens in the area of medicine and medical care yet find a way to circumcise 1.2 million boys a year at an average cost of $600.00 per child, not counting the cost of complications weeks, months or years down the line. That's $720,000.000.00 a year pumped into a dead-end procedure. Meanwhile, the family in the following clip from the AP are wiped out to pay for their child's legitimate medical needs. Fair warning. The reality this piece portrays for one family may shake you up a bit piss you off.

- Male Circumcision and HIV provides a place for a public health policy debate on the linking of male circumcision and HIV/AIDS. It seeks to address questions of cost versus benefit, the effectiveness of circumcision in the fight against HIV/AIDS in real world settings, and the differing points of view of researchers, the media, and all contributors to the policy discussion.
